Shot during my 2024 trip to Iceland, this image captures the dramatic beauty of Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon under overcast skies. I’ve always loved how Iceland’s muted, rainy days transform the landscape, deepening every hue. The greens and yellows here feel almost electric, glowing against the soft gray light of a rainy day.

This 2-million-year-old canyon is both rugged and serene, winding like something out of a fantasy film — which is fitting, given that it’s also famous for featuring in a Justin Bieber music video. In person, though, it’s far more breathtaking than any screen could convey.
