Thirty Seconds – Cathedral Rock Sunset Silhouette Print, Sedona

Cathedral Rock, Sedona, Arizona – 2026

Cathedral Rock in silhouette at sunset

A few minutes after Halo, I switched the drone to its telephoto lens. The longer lens compresses everything, so the setting sun sits right between the spires and the monuments read as pure shape against the sky.

From there the light changed every thirty seconds or so. Each time I thought I had the frame, the scene became something new, and I kept watching. This was the last shot before the wind made me bring the drone home.

The orange and green flares are part of the picture. They come from that lens shooting straight into the sun, and I left them in on purpose.
