A horizon-spanning panorama of Death Valley’s Panamint Range mirrored in the rare 2026 reflooding of Lake Manly, stitched from eight individual frames.
Lake Manly, Death Valley – 2026
This is the full sweep of the Panamint Range. Captured on March 28, 2026 as a stitched eight-frame panorama, the print pulls together a horizon-spanning view of Death Valley that no single exposure could hold. Two tiny figures stand on the salt flats at far left, and at this scale they look closer to punctuation than to people.
The soft pastel light is what makes this one a personal favorite. Just after sunrise, with the Panamints catching warm peach across their full east-facing flanks and the water below holding the sky in cool, near-lavender blue. Same Nikon Zf with the 24mm f/1.8 Nikkor and circular polarizer, eight exposures locked to matching settings and stitched together into a single seamless frame.
This is the wide-format print of the Lake Manly Series, for long walls, soft-palette interiors, and anyone drawn to the full breadth of a landscape that briefly remembered it used to be a lake.
