Búðir Black Church Contrast Sky
Photographed in 2024 at the iconic Búðir Black Church in Iceland’s Snæfellsnes Peninsula, this limited edition print captures a version of the landmark that feels distinctly different.
While the Búðir Church has been documented countless times, what makes this frame unique is the weather itself — ominous dark skies bookending a small strip of vivid blue, positioned directly above the church. The result is a hauntingly spiritual contrast: a scene that speaks to symbolism as much as composition.
Whether you see it as a metaphor or just appreciate strong natural lighting and palette, this piece offers a fresh take on one of Iceland’s most photographed sites.
